CHATHAM CULTURAL COUNCIL ANNOUNCES GRANT DEADLINES
AND GRANT WRITING & GUIDELINES WORKSHOP
CHATHAM CULTURAL COUNCIL GRANT WRITING & GUIDELINES WORKSHOP
The Chatham Cultural Council, part of a network of local cultural councils across the state, is funded annually by a legislative appropriation from the Massachusetts Cultural Council for a cross-section of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities. In Chatham, additional monies are also provided by the Town of Chatham, and through the generous donations of Chatham’s citizens.
The deadline for grant applications to the Chatham Cultural Council is October 15, 2010. To assist applicants in preparing an effective funding proposal, the Council is again presenting a Grant Writing & Guidelines Workshop on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at the Chatham Eldredge Library from 10:30 to 12:30.
Grant applications will be available in the Town Hall lobby and the Eldredge Public Library after September 15th. Application forms can be found online at www.chathamculturalcouncil.org or at the Massachusetts Cultural Council website www.massculturalcouncil.org/applications/lccapp.html.org, where complete information about grant programs is available.
Applications aimed at local schools must contain evidence that the applicant or organization has contacted the school, providing a contact name and letter of support. To expedite the Council’s review process, applicants are asked to provide one original, and 11 review copies.
Applications must be mailed to the Chatham Cultural Council, Chatham Town Office, 549 Main Street, Chatham, MA 02633, or delivered by hand to Town Hall. Applications must be postmarked no later than October 15th. Emailed applications are not accepted. Applications are no longer accepted outside this grant cycle.
---------
The Chatham Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 local cultural councils across the state. Each year the state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which then allocates funds to each community. In Chatham, additional monies are provided by the Town of Chatham, and through the generosity of Chatham’s citizens, businesses and organizations, for the funding of a cross-section of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year.
Enrichment for the Town of Chatham is the Council’s first priority. Partnership with other towns is encouraged as long as it benefits Chatham residents. The council does not fund the same project more than three times. To expedite the Council’s review process, applicants are asked to provide one original, and 11 review copies. Applications aimed at local schools must contain evidence that the applicant or organization has contacted the school or teachers, providing a contact name and letter of support.
